I've been working on a Bukkit plugin called SkyTracks, which makes it possible to place minecart tracks in midair. I think this would be a really cool plugin to have on Pawncraft.

    Features:
    • Anyone can place minecart tracks in midair.
    • Items and mobs fall right through the track. No more stalled minecarts due to dropped items!
    • Works with powered and detector rails.
    Considerations:
    • If this plugin is installed, and later removed, any existing floating tracks will become fragile: A single block update will cause the whole thing to collapse.
    • As shown in the last picture above, it is possible to create an "infinite slope", which can be used to boost minecarts without the use of powered rails. This is a side effect of the technique I used in the plugin. In my testing, this glitch isn't as effective as using powered rails, as it doesn't boost the cart to full speed as quickly, and can be very difficult to maintain, as block updates next to the track will cause it to level out. It also tends to be ugly if not used sparingly. I'm not too familiar with Pawncraft yet, so if this breaks the server economy or something, I may be able to modify the plugin to prevent it from being possible.

So, what do you think about SkyTracks? Sound like a good idea?

Whilst cool - would kill what little realism there is left in Minecraft.

Realism? Who cares about realism? This is Minecraft!

Minecraft doesn't have too much realism anyway.
