The leaps in "logic" were what amused me more than anything else.

I stopped reading after a few pages; that was so unbelievably stupid. I'm a young agnostic, therefore I'm the cause of crimes all over the world? I can't believe some people can be so blind to their own stupidity.

Alright, so that article is dumb, even me as a christian thinks that. But, you cant pretend that it doesnt work the other way round, ive heard suggestions of christian children being taken away from parents. All i want, and id hope you agree, is a level playing field, I dont care who believes what, but No One, religious or otherwise, should be persecuted for what they believe.

There is no prerequisite to being a dumbass. However, I wouldn't mind seeing children taken out of homes that do nothing but spread hate and vitrol (Westboro Baptist Church is a perfect example.)
I don't really care what people believe, so long as it's not forced on anyone or used to justify oppression. Personally, I think any religion is a little silly, but that's no reason to say people can't believe whatever they want. There are also people who believe that the earth is flat or hollow, and that we haven't been to the moon. Using the supernatural to explain things you don't understand makes a lot more sense compared to those weirdos.

I'm an Atheist. The person who wrote this article has probably only studied one religion all his life. Maybe he/she should get his facts straight. Btw: I do find this offensive. It is rude and misconstrued. I dislike uneducated people.

I'm of this opinion also, I grew up in a foster care environment and came across multiple instances in which children were removed from their parents due to there being a general fear of them developing addictive traits due to the behaviour of their parents, but very seldom was there any sort of reaction from social work in relation to the bigotry which is so deep-seated here. I once saw a toddler with a Rangers shirt on, which in my opinion is bad enough, but instead of a football player's name printed on the back he had 'Fenian Blood'.

I get that people outside of Scotland might not understand the sectarianism associated with our football and it's supporters, but I'd safely say that was one of the single most disgusting things I've ever saw in my life.

That's my one golden rule in life - I don't care if people worship blue sponge people from the moon, as long as they keep it private and out of my face I honestly couldn't care less - nor will it affect my opinion of that person.

    PS - Some religious humour:

Why is there a "joy thread" and a "rage thread" but no "equanimity thread"? Or "rationality thread"? Or "calmness thread"? Don't tell me they would be boring. That's the whole point!

    Here, this'll lighten the mood.
A bunch of students at my school are running for student counsel, and the walls are coated with ads (COATED!)
So then a few students went around and passed this out, acting like they, too, were campaigning:

Let me ruin the joyfulness in here by pointing out that those religions, by their very nature, cannot coexist. It would be nice if it was possible, and I love seeing people of different faiths getting along, but if one were to strictly follow the dictates of some of those religions, there wouldn't be anyone left.

It's mainly Islam and the Judeo-Christian faiths that create the problems. They'd either convert or murder the heretics.

I am truly amazed that, even up to this date, we still have religions, let alone abrahamic religions.

EDIT: Rename this "The Religion Thread!".

Hey! I didn't derail it on that post! I was sharing my mirthful amusement at the link you shared.

I will add, in the spirit of the thread's title, that seeing everyone still managing to get along despite some variety in professed faiths does leave me a little overjoyed.
